Finding Kind

The conversation started like this…..

“RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN NEGATIVELY AFFECTED BY SOMETHING THAT ANOTHER GIRL HAS SAID OR DONE TO YOU”
………….at that moment, 1000 hands went up.

For the next two hours, fears, tears, and hearts were shared as a part of the documentary known as “Finding Kind”. We discussed a “universal truth that is often swept under the rug.  Females and how vicious they can be to each other”

Call it teasing, call it bullying, call it mean, call it what you wish.
We call it a PROBLEM that needs to be addressed in today’s society.

Quoted from the hearts of young girls, teenage girls, and grown woman:
“I was really scared”
“Still even today, I never really told anyone how much that hurt”
“I would just love to have a friend like that for me”
“I wish I could take it back”

Powerful statements from girls that have been bullied as well as girls admitting to being on the other side.

PLEASE take the time to watch, to participate, and to advocate this [oh so needed] conversation. So that it may become not only become an important conversation, but an action of kindness!

Thanks to Hoyt Sherman Place, Iowa Health, and Blank Children’s Hospital, I [as well as 1000 other girls/woman in the metro] had an opportunity to be a part of this life changing event.

In the words of Linda Daugherty,

“There is one thing we can all be.
We may not all be beautiful.
We may not all be smart.
We may not all be talented.
But we can all be KIND ”

We are incredibly grateful, and the images will serve as a forever reminder that all of us can change the world... simply by being kind.
